5)Jaimie Dawn Krycho "Advent Song"

Lyrics:
Like the long-awaited coming
Of the daybreak after night
We have woken from our sleeping
Stretching out our hands to light
Roused from stranglehold of nightmares
Drawing breath, we hear your voice:
"Beat your swords into new plowshares,
War is over; friends, rejoice!"

Why are you downcast, o my soul?
Why so enamored with your weeping?
Your savior has come into the world
And you are safe within his keeping!

Like a woman fiercely crying
For a womb without a child
We have wept but tears have halted
At the sight of hope most wild:
Pregnant is the barren woman
Vibrant life is birthed anew
Hope is something that we’re given
Of which we’re made the givers, too

Why are you downcast, o my soul?
Why so enamored with your weeping?
Your savior has come into the world
And you are safe within his keeping!

You have removed the shroud from o’er the earth
Remove the veil from my heart that
I might know your worth
